Speaker biography: Nazmun Ratna

Nazmun Ratna, Associate Professor in Development Economics, Lincoln University, New Zealand

Nazmun is a Bangladeshi-New Zealander, currently working as an Associate Professor in Development Economics at Lincoln University, New Zealand. Her work focuses on the intersection of sustainable development and economic justice, specializing in institutions, gender, migration, and social capital. She has done extensive field research in Bangladesh as part of funded research by the FCDO, ACIAR, UNDP, B&MGF, and US Aid. Nazmun is the President for New Zealand Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (NZARES) and has dedicated much of her recent time to research the agriculture-gender-food security nexus in South Asia, and supervising students’ projects in Southeast Asia, Central America, and Africa.
